Cloning an Existing Website

Instead of describing a site from scratch, you can point Builder at an existing website and use it as a starting point.

Scope

When you start a clone, you choose the scope:

• Whole site — Builder crawls and captures the full site structure.
• Single page — Builder captures just one page as a reference.

Pages behind a login

If the page you want to clone requires authentication to view, Builder can accept credentials for that specific crawl so it can reach the content. Use this only for sites you have the right to access and reproduce.

What happens next

Cloning runs as a background capture job — you'll see it progress, and once it completes, the captured site becomes the basis for a new Builder project, which you can then edit and extend exactly like any generated project: chat-based edits, the visual editor, and the rest of the builder workspace all work the same way from there.
